WINCHESTER BAY, Ore. (AP) – A woman slain on the southern Oregon coast has been identified as a California resident. The Douglas County Major Crime Team says 57-year-old Kirsten Elaine Englund of Castro Valley, Calif., was found dead Sunday at the Winchester Bay Wayfinding Point, located along U.S. Highway 101. A relative says Englund was in Oregon visiting a son.

ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) – A Seattle man accused in a head-on crash that killed two Seaside, Ore., men April 19 is under arrest. Oregon State Police said yesterday that 38-year-old Sterling Frinell was booked into Clatsop County Jail on charges of drunken driving, assault and manslaughter. Investigators say he was driving with a suspended Washington license at the time of the crash.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police say the husband is wanted in this week’s murder of a southeast Portland woman, and have asked the public to help find him. Sgt. Pete Simpson says 46-year-old Le Huang is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him should call 911 and not approach. He is suspected of killing 33-year-old Dixiang Huang on Tuesday.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Hollywood producers brought television actors, fake snow and a guy in a sasquatch costume to the state Capitol in a bid to convince state lawmakers that they should divert more money to support film and video production. Actors and executives from NBC’s “Grimm,” TNT’s “Leverage” and IFC’s “Portlandia” were on hand for the show yesterday in Salem.
