AP () – – The Kings finally appear to be staying put in California’s capital city of Sacramento. The NBA’s relocation committee voted unanimously yesterday to recommend that owners reject the application for the Kings to relocate to Seattle. All 30 NBA owners will meet the week of May 13 to vote. Seattle investor Chris Hansen is pledging to move forward with the transaction.

SEATTLE (AP) – Michael Saunders homered in his first at-bat since he was activated from the disabled list and Joe Saunders pitched his eighth career complete game to lead the Seattle Mariners to a 6-2 win against the Baltimore Orioles last night. Kyle Seager had a two-run triple and Jason Bay added three hits as the Mariners won their third consecutive game.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) – Vancouver Canucks goaltender Cory Schneider returned to practice yesterday. However his status for the first game of the Stanley Cup quarterfinals against the San Jose Sharks remains uncertain. Game 1 of the series is tomorrow night. Coach Alain Vigneault (vihn-YOH’) said yesterday that Schneider’s status remains day to day.
