Triangle Lake edged Crow to sweep a Mountain West Track and Field meet yesterday in Mapleton. The Sailors finished fourth for the boys, third place for the girls.
Mapleton dominated in the 300 meter hurdles where Chris Free won the boys’ event in 50.84 seconds… Chelsea Simington won the girls’ in 58.3 seconds. Other individual event winners for Mapleton: Taysie Savage took the girls’ triple jump with a leap of 26-feet, 9-inches; and Tucker Ford won the boys’ high jump at 5-feet, 5-inches.
Sailor athletes will be at the Glide Small Schools meet Tuesday afternoon.
On the diamond today…
The Lady Vikings will host the Brookings-Harbor Bruins for two softball games today in Florence… first pitch is at three. In Brookings, the Siuslaw Vikings will face the Bruins for a baseball double-header at the same time. Those games will air on Coast Radio Sports with the pregame show starting at 2:45.
On the college diamond… number five Oregon State is in Seattle today for the first of three games against the Washington Huskies… tenth ranked Oregon is hosting number 13 UCLA.
Back to the prep ranks… Siuslaw track and field is in Central Point tomorrow for the Crater Classic.
