Over the weekend at the Perry Burlison Wrestling Classic Siuslaw High School Junior Riley Jennings won by fall over Stayton’s Johnny Sylva in the 170 pound category, while Senior Grappler Richard Huff in the 126 pound category score 17 points for Siuslaw, placing third.
Viking Boys Even Record
On Friday evening the Siuslaw Viking boy’s basketball team bested Elmira 45-44 with Senior Trent Reavis scoring 14 to lead the Vikings. Senior Kyle King scored 11 for the Vikings and Senior Jake Hickson scored 10.
Viking Girls Downed by Falcons
The Viking Girls were outscored by the Falcons 54-42.
Mapleton Struggles
Mapleton was at the Days Creek Invitational on Friday. The Sailor Girls were defeated 63-9 and the boys 64-19.
College Hoops
Ducks Men’s basketball lost to Boise State on Friday 73-70
The Beavers took on Loyola Marymount and won on Saturday 78-74.
Oregon State Beavers Women’s basketball team was in Hawaii over the weekend at the Maui Jim Maui tournament where they defeated Nevada on Friday night 89-49 and Utah State on Saturday 94-55.
The lady Ducks defeated Weber State 114-87 at home on Saturday.
