Vikings Top Far-West League; Beavers Seconds Away; Mapleton Play-Off Run; Ducks Host Utah

The Siuslaw Viking cross country team became the Far-West League Champions yesterday at Tugman State Park.  For the girls it was their 14th win in 15 seasons.  The Girls topped the scoring at 38 points and a total time of 1:43:47.  Coming in second place was Hannah Rannow with a time of 20:08.33.  Also finishing among the top runners was Brea Blankenship, Anne Wartnik, Chloe Madden, and Gracie Freudenthal.  The Viking Boys also claimed their part of the championship with 28 points and a combined time of 1:27:11.  Isaac Griffes finished in first place 16:57.12 and fourth, fifth and sixth place were taken by Brenden Jensen, Kiger Johnson and Jordan Northrup respectively.

Beavers Almost…

The Oregon State Beavers led the entire game at Reser Stadium last night except for the final 20 seconds.  The Stanford Cardinal team couldn’t find the end-zone all evening and had to settle for field goals until their final drive.  With 20 seconds left the Beavers managed to get to the Cardinal 40 yard line but a hail Mary pass with three seconds left was intercepted.  Stanford won 15 – 14.

Mapleton Hosting Play-off Round

The Sailors are at home tonight hosting the Lowell Devils in the Mountain West League Football playoff game.  Kick off at Mapleton High School is set for 7 o’clock…

Ducks and Utes Tomorrow

The Ducks are at home hosting the Utes in Pac Twelve Football.   Airtime on KCST is set for 1 o’clock, kick off between Oregon and Utah is set for 2:45 at Autzen Stadium Eugene.
