Beavers extend streak with non-league win

Adley Rutschman drove home two with a sixth-inning pinch hit single and Brandon Eisert (EYE-surd) struck out nine in 3 1/3 innings to send the top-ranked Oregon State baseball team to a 4-3 win over Portland Tuesday night at Joe Etzel Field.  The win extended Oregon State’s win streak to 20 games, tying Missouri for the longest in the nation this season.  The Beavers will host Utah for a three game conference series beginning Friday in Corvallis.

Viking softball had the tying run on second with no outs in the bottom of the seventh inning yesterday at Siuslaw High School, but the bats couldn’t deliver and the Tillamook Cheesemakers held on for a 4-3 non-league win.

In Pleasant Hill, the Billies held the Vikings to just one hit on the day and beat Siuslaw 6-1 on the baseball diamond.
