Athlete of the Week
Siuslaw wrestling standout Richard Huff is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the Week. The junior 120-pounder swept his weight class at the Alsea Bay Classic in Waldport last week, winning his first match by a 20-7 major decision, then completing the sweep with three straight falls, the last one in just 17-seconds.
Honorable mention is given to Kainan Lane, the senior 285-pounder was second in his weight class at the Alsea Bay Classic.
On the schedule tonight…
Viking Basketball wraps up the preseason with a pair of games against the Junction City Tigers. The girls will be in Florence, the boys in Junction City. Both games tip off at seven. The boys’ game will air on KCST with the pregame show getting underway at 6:45.
Mapleton is scheduled to be in Coos Bay for a non-league matchup against the Marshfield JV.
