GASTON, Ore. (AP) — The Washington County sheriff’s office says seven people were hurt in a Saturday night crash on Highway 47 north of Gaston. One woman was airlifted from the roadway after the collision between a pickup truck and an SUV.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Authorities say they have arrested a man suspected of stabbing his friend multiple times inside a Buddhist temple in Salem. The Statesman Journal reports that 23-year-old Jose Murillo faces charges of attempted murder and first-degree assault in connection with the Friday incident.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say two people have died and one is in the hospital after an early morning head-on crash east of Eugene. Authorities say an eastbound pickup truck crossed the center line and struck another vehicle at about 12:40 a.m. near Leaburg.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A sharp-eyed vet intern in Oregon spotted a tick just before a paralyzed collie was to be euthanized. KPTV in Portland reports the tick was found lodged behind the dog’s ear. Veterinarian Adam Stone says paralysis from ticks is pretty rare. Now Ollie is doing well and back with his family.
