BUXTON, Ore. (AP) – Authorities say a man wanted on attempted murder charges fired at pursuing officers before he was shot by police to end a 17-mile chase on Highway 26 in the Coast Range. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says Andrew Dehart was hospitalized last night with life-threatening injuries. KGW-TV reports that Dehart was wanted for attempted murder, kidnapping and assault charges in Clark County, Washington.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Alaska Airlines says the computer issues that delayed about 20 flights have been resolved. Airline spokesman Cole Cosgrove says crews are fixing the problems and systems are returning to normal. No residual delays are expected.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – A Yorkshire Terrier was carried away from its owner’s porch in Oregon by an animal believed to be a young cougar. The Statesman Journal reports that Mark Jensen says he watched a large cat carry away his dog, Bub, at his house near Sublimity early yesterday. Marion County Sheriff’s deputies, state wildlife officials and state police are determining the appropriate response.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Officials say a Portland man has been arrested for breaking into a neighbor’s home and stealing women’s underwear. The Oregonian reports that Daniel Kowatch told police he had thought about breaking into a neighbor’s home many times just to see if he could get away with it. He has been booked on burglary and criminal mischief charges.
