TILLAMOOK, Ore. (AP) – Tillamook County sheriff’s officers say searchers are looking for two missing campers. KATU-TV reports that authorities have been looking for the two men since Tuesday. They left the campground off State Highway 6 east of Tillamook in a green Ford Explorer and were supposed to return within several hours.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Rescue officials say a 2-year-old boy who somehow got his hand trapped in an escalator at a suburban Portland mall had one finger severed and another severely damaged. Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue officials say the boy was taken to a hospital last night after the accident near the food court at the Washington Square Mall. KPTV-TV reports fire officials said it was not known whether doctors would be able to re-attach the girl’s finger.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland Fire and Rescue says firefighters were able to contain a 2-alarm fire to the roof of the 15-story Yeon Building. The fire broke out early today and more than 60 firefighters responded to the downtown high-rise. The fire was controlled in 20 minutes. No word yet on the cause.

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) – Nebraska authorities say an Oregon man found dead near a fast-food restaurant in North Platte died of natural causes. Police identified the man as 57-year-old Mitchell Freeman of Roseburg. His body was found Sunday night near a van with Oregon license plates. Police say Freeman appeared to have been living in the van.
