Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports…

The Hillsboro Hops finally came out on top 9-7 over the Eugene Emeralds last night in a 17-inning marathon game at PK Park.

Trae Santos got it started for the Ems with a first inning Grand Slam, putting Eugene up 5-1 early. But, the Hops tied it in the sixth and it remained that way until the top of the 17th when Hillsboro’s Taylor Ratliff punched a two-run homer to right field.

The Emeralds had a chance in the bottom of the inning, loading the bases on two singles and a walk before Felipe Blanco struck out swinging.

The Emeralds came out on top Friday night 5-4 in the final game of a three-game series against Salem-Keizer; then fell to the Hops Saturday 6-3. Eugene and Hillsboro wrap up tonight before the Emeralds head out for a five-game series against Everett.
