SEATTLE (AP) – Derek Jeter had a memorable final regular season appearance in Seattle with three hits, two runs scored and two RBIs, and the New York Yankees completed their first three-game sweep of the season with a 6-3 win over the Mariners last night. Jeter had a singles in his first two at-bats off Seattle starter Roenis Elias (5-5), then greeted reliever Dominic Leone with a two-run single in the fourth that gave the Yankees a 6-1 lead.

SEATTLE (AP) – Former top prospect Jesus Montero has been recalled by the Seattle Mariners, his first stint in the majors since a 50-game suspension after being connected to baseball’s Biogenesis performance-enhancing drug investigation. Seattle made the roster move after outfielder Michael Saunders was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a shoulder injury.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Boise State junior Emma Bates won the women’s 10,000 meters last night in the NCAA track and field championships in 32 minutes, 32.35 seconds, the second-fastest time in the history of the meet. Alabama-Birmingham senor Elinor Kirk was second in the race that capped the second day of the championships at Oregon’s Hayward Field.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) – The Seattle Seahawks have added another big body to their defensive line after agreeing to terms with free agent Kevin Williams. The Seahawks reached the agreement with Williams yesterday as the team wrapped up its organized team activities. The Seahawks still have their mandatory three-day minicamp beginning Tuesday.
