PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A University of Oregon student who says she was sexually assaulted by three members of the men’s basketball team says the athletic department prioritizes winning over student safety. It’s the unidentified woman’s first public statement since the controversy erupted on the Eugene campus.

COQUILLE, Ore. (AP) – The owner of a tattoo shop in Coos County has pleaded guilty to accusations he tried to gun down a competitor. The World newspaper reports that Dave Wonnacott was sentenced this week to more than 11 years in prison on charges that included attempted murder and conspiring to tamper with a witness. Prosecutors say that after he was arrested, Wonnacott plotted in jail to do harm to Graham to keep him from testifying.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Marion County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 69-year-old Silverton man accused of killing his neighbor’s dog. Sgt. Chris Baldridge says Monty Fisher shot the Alaskan Husky named Xavier on May 27. Fisher told investigators he was defending livestock at the time, but Baldridge says deputies found witnesses who said the dog was not chasing any livestock.

STEVENSVILLE, Mont. (AP) – State wildlife officials are investigating the illegal shooting of a wolf in western Montana last weekend. The Missoulian reports the wolf was fitted with a GPS collar in Oregon in 2013 and had made its way through Idaho and the Big Hole Valley before arriving in the Bitterroot Valley last month. Its carcass was found near a road.
