PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Triple-A reports the average price of a gallon of gasoline in Oregon is $3.32. It’s a nickel lower than the national average and 31 cents lower than a year ago in the state. Some metro prices — Portland $3.30, Salem $3.27, Eugene-Springfield $3.37, and Medford-Ashland $3.37.

ASHLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Ashland City Council will discuss a pared-down gun control ordinance that bans the possession of loaded weapons in public but drops other proposed measures. The Daily Tidings reports the City attorney says the ban on loaded weapons in public has been upheld by the Oregon Supreme Court, but that the restrictions on storage could lead to expensive litigation.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A Portland man was arrested early yesterday and charged with involvement in a fatal hit-and-run last weekend. Another man police believe tried to help 24-year-old Jay Jenkins by repairing damage to the vehicle also faces a charge of evidence tampering. Douglas Miller was struck and killed Saturday night. Jenkins faces second-degree manslaughter, hit-and-run and evidence tampering charges.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Atonye Nyingifa tied her career-high with 34 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead UCLA to a 103-83 win over Oregon last night. Nyingifa had 34 points when the Bruins rallied to beat the Ducks last month. Ariel Thomas had 28 points for Oregon while Jillian Alleyne had 24 points and 12 rebounds.
