SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – DeMarcus Cousins had 35 points and 13 rebounds, Rudy Gay scored 32 points and the Sacramento Kings held off a furious rally to beat the Portland Trail Blazers 123-119 last night. Damian Lillard scored 26 of his 41 points in the final period to pull Portland within two in the final minute. But the Kings made just enough free throws to hold off the Blazers, who have lost four of their last six games.

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) – Lia Galdeira scored 28 points last night and Washington State beat rival Washington 82-80, snapping an 18-year, 36-game losing streak against the Huskies. Tia Presley added 13 points and the Cougars (9-6, 3-0 Pacific-12 Conference) moved into a first-place tie with USC.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) – Wide receiver Percy Harvin and tight end Luke Willson have participated in practice for the Seattle Seahawks, raising the possibility of each playing in this weekend’s NFC divisional playoff game against New Orleans. Seattle coach Pete Carroll said yesterday that Harvin made it through the two days he participated last week without any setbacks.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) – The Seattle Seahawks finished the regular season with the best pass defense in the NFL with three All-Pro selections in the secondary. Their best performance came when they shut down New Orleans in Week 13, holding Drew Brees to one of the lowest passing totals of his career. Now comes the challenge of duplicating that success in Saturday’s NFC divisional playoff game against the Saints.
