PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland police say a patient stabbed a security guard at Portland Adventist Medical Center. Sgt. Pete Simpson says the stabbing happened yesterday afternoon and the patient suffered self-inflicted wounds before he was restrained during a struggle. Neither injury is considered life-threatening.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) -Authorities have finished their second day of searching for a small plane that disappeared in the mountains of central Idaho. Ground and air crews are searching for the plane piloted by software executive Dale Smith, of San Jose, Calif., who reported engine trouble Sunday before losing radio contact. Five people were on board flying from Baker City, Ore., to Butte, Mont.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) – A task force including ranchers and the Klamath Tribes is wrapping up work on recommendations to end conflicts over water in the Upper Klamath Basin. Gov. John Kitzhaber and others are to join the group today to announce an agreement in principal. It addresses ways to prevent a repeat of last summer, when irrigation water was shut off to upper basin ranches.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A megaload of oil refinery equipment bound for western Canada has been halted again in northeast Oregon. This time the problem is weather, not protesters. The rig parked south of Pendleton yesterday. A spokeswoman for Omega Morgan said no travel was planned due to wintry weather that blanketed roads in snow and ice.
