BOISE, IDAHO. (AP) – A search in the central Idaho backcountry for five family members in a small plane that disappeared Sunday has been complicated by snow and low visibility. The Idaho Statesman says the state Transportation Department reports that the search was halted yesterday evening but was to resume at daybreak. The plane was flying from Baker City, Ore., to Butte, Mont.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -Most websites for the State of Oregon went down for hours yesterday. NIC, the company that handle’s web traffic for the state, tells KATU that problems with a server in Texas is causing delays and crashes. The company says about 90 percent of state websites went down and it has “all hands on deck” to try and fix the problem.
GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) – Ranchers and the Klamath Tribes have reached a tentative deal for sharing water in the drought-stricken Upper Klamath Basin. A special task force signed an agreement in principle yesterday. Its goal is to reach a final agreement early in 2014 that will guide legislation to be offered by U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden. Klamath Tribes Chairman Don Gentry says there is a lot of negotiating left to do.
SALEM, Ore. (AP) – GPS-device-maker Garmin AT Inc. says it will expand in Salem with the help of state incentives. The company plans to hire at least 65 new people for software and engineering positions. Garmin designs and builds aircraft navigation equipment and also runs a call center in Salem.
