PORT HURON, Mich. (AP) – An Oregon woman who left the body of her 89-year-old mother outside a Michigan thrift store has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of manslaughter. The woman was awaiting trial on a murder charge but she pleaded guilty Friday to manslaughter and elder neglect charges.

ODELL, Ore. (AP) – Fire destroyed a stack of empty fruit bins last night at Diamond Fruit Growers in Odell, south of Hood River. Fire officials tell KATU the bins were outside and no buildings were damaged. No one was injured. The fire was reported after 8 p.m. and was under control in about an hour.

NEW YORK (AP) – A federal judge has pushed back the New York terrorism trial of an Egyptian Islamic cleric extradited from Great Britain. The change was granted today, moving Mustafa Kamel Mustafa’s (muh-STAH’-fuh kah-MEHL’ muh-STAH’-fuhz) trial from March to April. Prosecutors say Mustafa conspired with Seattle men to set up a terrorist training camp in Oregon. He has pleaded not guilty.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Portland Trail Blazers beat the slumping New York Knicks 102-91 last night for their 11th straight victory, their longest win streak since they won 13 straight in 2007. LaMarcus Aldridge had 18 points and 14 rebounds for his seventh double-double this season. Nicolas Batum had 23 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Blazers in New York’s sixth straight loss.
