HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) – Hillsboro police say two officers involved in the shooting death of a suspect during a traffic stop will not be identified until after they are interviewed by detectives today. Police say the a man in the front-passenger seat pulled a handgun and fired at one of the officers late Friday after being asked to step out of the car. The officer’s partner returned fire, striking the suspect who later died at a Portland hospital.

BEAVERTON, Ore. (AP) – Police say an 11-year-old autistic girl who was reported missing last night from a Beaverton hotel has been found safe. Police searched all night and said she was found about 3:45 a.m. in Gresham.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – The governors of Western U.S. states and a Canadian province today will unveil a partnership to collectively combat climate change and promote clean energy. Governors of California, Oregon, Washington and the premier of British Columbia gather in San Francisco this afternoon to provide details of the partnership.

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – The name of a Jackson County deputy who was killed nearly 100 years ago will be added to the Oregon Fallen Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Salem. The Board on Public Safety Standards and Training has unanimously approved adding Charles Basye next year. According to the Mail Tribune, Basye was beaten to death in 1917 by a prisoner escaping in Jacksonville.
