PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland Police say three people wounded in a gang-related shooting on the Portland waterfront are expected to survive. KATU-TV reports the shooting happened as hundreds of people were waiting for a private party to begin on the Portland Spirit late Saturday night. Sgt. Pete Simpson says police are looking for three people who ran away from the scene.

SEATTLE (AP) – Health officials say people in both Washington and Oregon may have been exposed to a child with a confirmed case of the measles. The child is an unvaccinated King County, Wash., resident who was exposed to measles while traveling in Europe. This measles case is unrelated to previous cases in King County last night.

BANDON, Ore. (AP) – A mosquito infestation in Bandon, Ore., has residents buzzing about the restoration of the Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge. The Oregonian reports the $10 million marsh restoration by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has created a fertile breeding ground for mosquitoes. Stores have run out of repellant, and for the first time in its 14 years of operation, the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort sprayed insecticide on its golf courses.

SEATTLE (AP) – Eddie Johnson flicked a header past Portland goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts off a free kick in the 60th minute in the Seattle Sounders’ 1-0 win last night over the Timbers. They played in front of the second-largest, stand-alone crowd in Major League Soccer history.
