COQUILLE, Ore. (AP) – Oregon State Police say a rock climber is seriously injured after a fall yesterday afternoon at Golden and Silver Falls State Natural Area northeast of Coos Bay. The man was climbing a rock wall near a waterfall when he fell more than 30 feet. An air ambulance took the man to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield.

GRESHAM, Ore. (AP) – Police say a 28-year-old Portland man is recovering from a stab wound suffered in a in an attack last night outside a convenience store in Gresham. Police say the suspect was still at the scene when officer arrived. They arrested a 46-year-old Portland man on an assault charge. The victim is expected to recover from a chest wound.

IONE, Ore. (AP) – A year ago, Dan Williams moved from his home near Ione’s Willow Creek wind farm to Walterville. He said he couldn’t take the noise of whipping turbine blades any longer. On Friday Williams sued the wind farm’s developer Invenergy for $5 million. Williams claims “emotional distress, deteriorating physical and emotional health” and other problems her blames on the turbines’ noise and flickering glare. Invenergy said it wasn’t aware of any alleged health impacts to Williams until he filed the lawsuit.

HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) – Hillsboro police say a worker sorting donations at a Goodwill store found a hand grenade with the pin still intact. Lt. Mike Rouches told KPTV the building’s warehouse was evacuated Saturday while a Portland bomb squad collected the grenade. Investigators believe someone mistakenly placed it in their box of donations.
