Builders dismantle Sandblasters

The bats were nearly as active as the winds yesterday at Jiggs Dodson Field as Corvallis swept both halves of an American Legion double-header over the Three Rivers Sandblasters.

The two teams combined for 36 hits and 31 runs but it was the

Gerding Builders of Corvallis on top 16-15 in game one.  Michael Hampton nearly hit for the series, going five-for-five at the plate with two singles, two doubles and a triple.  Ryan Smith did hit for the cycle with four hits in the game.

The Sandblasters seemed to leave all of their offense in game one and fell to the Builders 13-nothing in game two.  They’ll be on the road this afternoon to Dallas where they’ll face the Dirtbags at four… the pregame show on Coast Radio Sports will be at 3:45.

Emeralds Open Home Stand Against Aquasox

The Eugene Emeralds had the day off yesterday… they’ll host the Everett Aquasox this evening for the first of five at PK Park.
