MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – Authorities are investigating a suspicious fire at a Medford church. KTVL-TV reports that when firefighters arrived at Zion Lutheran Church, a cross on the front of the building was burning. Fire crews say the flames spread to an attic and there was some water damage, but the building is not a total loss.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland police are investigating whether the basement of a house where a fire broke out last night was being used to illegally grow marijuana. The Oregonian reports that fire crews found that the lights used to grow the plants were an electrical hazard. A natural gas line was also severed. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland police say a young boy was hospitalized after being struck by a car yesterday at an intersection in southeast Portland. The Portland Police Bureau says the boy suffered “traumatic injuries” and was taken to a hospital. Police say the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

UNDATED (AP)- New Orleans, Portland and Sacramento have agreed to a three-team trade sending guard Tyreke (TY’-reek) Evans to the Pelicans, center Robin Lopez to the Trail Blazers and guard Greivis (GREE’-vihs) Vasquez to the Kings. People familiar with the deal spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because NBA rules prevent confirmation of trades until July 10.
