Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Fire crews say they’ve made progress fighting a wildfire near the Owyhee Dam in Eastern Oregon. Fire officials said crews totaling about 260 people were on the fire yesterday. The fire is burning in on about 70 square miles. It was sparked by lightning on Monday.

ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) – A pilot says a midair crash in Idaho that injured two Roseburg men and killed a 2-year-old boy last week came without warning. The Roseburg News-Review reports 39-year-old Chris Jordan says he didn’t see or hear the other plane. The crash occurred Friday at a back-country airstrip near Yellow Pine in western Idaho.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon Court of Appeals has reversed a lower court’s decision to allow a robbery suspect’s statements to be used at trial. Celso Avila-Nava admits to lying to a detective during a police interrogation in 2009, but says he only did so after asserting his right to remain silent. Prosecutors used the statements to attack Avila-Nava’s credibility.

UNDATED (AP) __ People familiar with the trade say Sacramento, New Orleans and Portland have agreed to a three-team deal sending guard Tyreke Evans to the Pelicans, center Robin Lopez to the Trail Blazers and guard Greivis Vasquez to the Kings. They say Portland is sending second-round draft pick Jeff Withey to New Orleans and a future draft pick to Sacramento as part of the deal.
