SALEM, Ore. (AP) — A man who worked as a teacher’s assistant at a Keizer middle school has been convicted of sexually abusing three boys, two with disabilities. In a trial before a Marion County Circuit Court judge, 45-year-old Jose Juan Moreno of Salem was found guilty yesterday. The Statesman Journal reports the crimes took place from 2010 to October of last year when Moreno was fired.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The search continues on Mount Hood for Salem dentist Kinley Adams who failed to return Saturday from a climb. Bad weather and poor visibility forced volunteers to suspend yesterday’s search and they’re hoping for skies to clear today. An Oregon Army National Guard helicopter is standing by. The 59-year-old Adams is described as an experienced climber.

ESTACADA, Ore. (AP) — A Portland man who fell over a 50-foot cliff in the Mount Hood National Forest while looking for his dog suffered leg injuries and was taken to a hospital. The Oregonian reported that 56-year-old Richard Shaw was in fair condition yesterday. The dog was found a short time later at the base of another drop-off and was rescued by Oregon Humane Society Technical Animal Rescue. It had no major injuries and was able to go home.

TUALATIN, Ore. (AP) — Police in the community of Tualatin say someone who entered the back door of a store early yesterday escaped with an estimated $150,000 worth of jewelry. Police said officers responded to a call from the alarm company that monitors a Jared the Galleria of Jewelers location. Police say they searched the area with the help of a Beaverton police K-9 team but failed to locate anyone.
