SALEM, Ore. (AP) – The former head of a nonprofit aimed at helping people with disabilities has been indicted in state court on 14 charges, most alleging she stole from her organization. Janice Roberts, who ran Oregon Parent Information and Training Center, faces alleges theft, aggravated theft and identity theft. The organization’s board has since disbanded and closed its Salem office.

FOREST GROVE, Ore. (AP) – A Banks, Ore., man has been cited in a fiery crash on Oregon 47 near Forest Grove that injured three adults and one child Saturday. The Oregonian reports police cited 25-year-old Bryan K. Bartholomew for following too close. Oregon State Police say the man slammed on his brakes in his Jeep to avoid a rear-end collision and ended up crashing into an RV.

MILWAUKIE, Ore. (AP) – A stolen wooden bear statue stolen last Friday has been returned to a Milwaukie bar after an anonymous caller reported seeing it on Facebook. Surveillance video and Facebook images led police to 25-year-old Corey Daniel Harris and 26-year-old Trevor Modar. Both men claim the caper was a prank and had planned to return it.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) – Alaska authorities say firefighters from the lower 48 have been flown up from Oregon to Fairbanks to help fight wildfires. Five small fires in Alaska Fire Service protection areas developed over the week. Warm temperatures are expected to continue this week, keeping the fire danger high.
