Beaver Lefty Pitches a Gem, Sends Hoosiers Home.

Matt Boyd scattered four hits over nine innings and struck out 11 and the Beavers made a fourth inning sacrifice fly stand for a one-nothing win over Indiana last night in Omaha at the College World Series.

Oregon State must now beat Mississippi State twice to advance to the finals.  The Beavers and the Bulldogs play Friday at noon at TD Ameritrade Park.

Emeralds Fall to Hops

Eugene’s Erik Cabrera struck out five and gave up four hits in four innings last night in Hillsboro and the Hops edged the Eugene Emeralds 2-1 last night to claim the rubber match of the two teams’ three game series.  The Emeralds are back at PK Park in Eugene this evening for the beginning of a five-game home stand against Tri Cities.

American Legion Baseball

The Three Rivers Sandblasters and Canyon Crushers were rained out yesterday… the Blasters are due for two games this afternoon in Salem against the Withnell Dodgers.  Airtime from Willamette University is set for 1:45 on KCST… first pitch of game one is at two.
