The Three Rivers Sandblasters will be among the teams taking to the diamonds of Western Oregon this weekend to open the 2013 American Legion Baseball season. The Blasters, under coach Jim Dietz, will host the Withnell Dodgers Sunday afternoon at Jigg’s Dodson Field. Airtime is set for 3:45, first pitch is at 4 o’clock over Coast Radio Sports
Oregon State is set to play Kansas State tomorrow in the first of three games in the NCAA’s 2013 Corvallis Super Regional. The Beavers are making their 14th postseason appearance since 1907 and go into the super regional with 43-26 postseason record. Oregon State is historically 3-3 against Kansas State, winning their most recent game against the Wildcats in 2012. Tomorrow’s game is set for 4 o’clock, Sunday the teams meet again at Goss Stadium at 7 o’clock and if a third game is needed they will play the bumper game at 4 on Monday.
