SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Two names were favored in an online public survey to name two new ODOT trains that will haul Amtrak passengers between Eugene and Vancouver, British Columbia. Following the tradition of naming Northwest trains after mountain peaks, they will be called Mt. Bachelor and Mt. Jefferson. Each of the new trains has 13 cars with seating for 275 passengers. They will enter into service this summer.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – An Oregon man who stripped naked at Portland International Airport to protest a security check – and became an Internet celebrity because of the disrobing – was in court yesterday to contest the federal government’s proposal to fine him $1,000. The TSA is fining 50-year-old John Brennan for interfering with the security screening process when he stripped.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – An Oregon man who spent time in prison after being accused of snipping or gluing female bus passengers’ hair has been arrested again – this time accused of lewd behavior on buses. The Oregonian reports that investigators say 26-year-old Jared Weston Walter has masturbated and ejaculated into the hair of several female TriMet bus passengers. Officers pulled video from the bus and collected DNA evidence.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Nate Tibbetts has joined the Portland Trail Blazers as an assistant coach. The 35-year-old Tibbetts comes to the Blazers after serving for two seasons as an assistant with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Before that, he spent two seasons as a head coach with the NBA Development League.
