SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Police say a 24-year-old man shot his 18-year-old sister in the leg last night at a Salem apartment. Police say the man had been drinking and removed the gun from his waistband to unload it when it discharged.

HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) – Former Oregon Ducks cornerback Cliff Harris has entered a not guilty plea to charges stemming from a fight with his girlfriend. Harris was let go last week by the New York Jets. He was returned to the Washington County Jail after a hearing yesterday.

MOUNT HOOD, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon Department of Transportation says drivers should expect traffic delays on U.S. 26 on Mount Hood today. Crews will use explosives to remove a cedar tree threatening the roadway near the Tollgate Trailhead.

FOREST GROVE, Ore. (AP) – Two dogs are recovering after being pulled from a house fire yesterday in Forest Grove. Firefighters gave the dogs oxygen to revive them after they were rescued from the house. The human residents escaped the house fire unhurt.
