PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The former Clackamas County elections worker accused of ballot tampering is scheduled to plead guilty today. Deanna Swenson of Oregon City was arrested last fall after another she was spotted filling in ovals on ballots where preferences were left empty by voters. A defense attorney says Swenson will admit guilt and receive a 90-day jail sentence.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – A man shot and wounded by a Marion County sheriff’s deputy is identified as a 38-year-old Jefferson resident. State Police say Dusty Epps suffered non-life-threatening injuries during a confrontation after a Tuesday afternoon traffic stop in Salem. Epps was being treated at a Salem hospital.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland police say a truck driver’s attempt to brake on a sloping bend of a city bridge may have led the big rig to tip over, dumping a massive girder that crushed a car. A young woman was rescued from the car, which caught fire. She suffered an arm injury. The wreck closed the top deck of the Marquam Bridge for nearly 16 hours.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The U.S. attorney’s office says a former Portland police officer has been sentenced to five years in prison for receiving child pornography that included images of infants and young children being abused by adult males. Fifty-one-year-old Scott Edward Elliott was arrested in 2011 after an online investigation. He will also have to register as a sex offender.
