MOUNT HOOD, Ore. (AP) – Three skiers who became lost in an out-of-bounds area on Mount Hood have been rescued. KATU reports rescuers found two men around 1 a.m. and the third before 6 a.m. The Clackamas County sheriff’s office says the men have been taken to their cars. The men, all in their 30s, were warmly dressed and are reported in good condition. They were at Ski Bowl yesterday when they got lost and called for help.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) – Police say an armored truck guard was unloading a bag of money outside a Springfield bank yesterday when a man in a hooded sweatshirt walked up and demanded the cash. Police say the would-be robber kept his hands concealed in a pocket during the brief confrontation. The Register-Guard reports the guard responded by pulling his handgun. The suspect ran off and has eluded police.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Oregon health officials are investigating after one man died and more than a dozen other people fell ill after attending the same meeting. The Oregonian says Kevin Weeks of McMinnville was among 40 people at a State Forests Advisory Committee meeting March 15 in Forest Grove. It featured a catered breakfast and lunch. Last weekend, 15 of the attendees developed severe gastrointestinal symptoms. Weeks stayed home sick Monday. He was dead the next morning.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A former Oregon teacher who fled after a federal jury found him guilty of possessing child pornography is back in the US after being deported from Mexico. US Marshals say Logan Storm initially told Mexican officials he was someone else when they arrested him on March 12 in Mexico City. But authorities sent documents and photos to a Mexican court, which determined that the man was Storm. The former Beaverton math teacher vanished in late January, just hours after the jury verdict.
