BOULDER, Colo. (AP) – Xavier Johnson had a career-high 22 points, Spencer Dinwiddie added 17 and Colorado beat No. 19 Oregon 76-53 last night, completing a season sweep and thwarting the Ducks’ bid to gain a share of the Pac-12 Conference title. The Buffaloes played without the nation’s leading rebounder, Andre Roberson, who sat out with a viral illness. Arsalan Kazemi, Jonathan Loyd and Ben Carter each had 10 points for Oregon, now in a first-place tie with UCLA. Oregon holds the tiebreaker.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – Jordan Loveridge scored 17 points and collected 12 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season to help Utah run away from Oregon State for a 72-61 victory last night. Jason Washburn added 15 points and eight boards while Jarred DuBois chipped in 15 points and six assists for the Utes as they moved a step closer to wrapping up the 10th seed in the Pac-12 Tournament next week. POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) – Eastern Washington jumped out to a 22-4 lead during the first eight minutes last night and never looked back, beating Idaho State 87-73. Fueling the Eagles’ fast start was their shooting prowess beyond the arc, where they were 9-of-14 during the first half alone, eclipsing their season average of eight three-pointers a game. They finished 14-of-26 for the game, including 6-of-10 from sophomore guard Parker Kelly, who led all players with 28 points on the night.

OGDEN, Utah (AP) – Davion Berry scored 19 points as Weber State stayed in contention for the Big Sky Conference regular-season title by defeating Portland State 80-52 last night. The Wildcats, who have won 10 straight, trail Big Sky leader Montana by one game with one game remaining. Scott Bamforth added 13 points and 12 rebounds for Weber State, which led 41-13 at halftime. Joel Bolomboy had 10 points and 11 boards. Renado Parker scored 13 points for the Vikings. Aaron Moore had 11.

Talia Walton added 19 points and nine rebounds, while Aminah Williams had 11 points and 17 boards, for the fifth-seeded Huskies, who trailed by as many as 22 in the first half. Washington won despite shooting 32 percent from the floor, including 6 of 31 from 3-point range. Ariel Thomas led the No. 12 seed Ducks with 13 points.

SEATTLE (AP) – Ariya Cook scored 17 points and Cassie Harberts had 16 points and 14 rebounds to lead seventh-seeded Southern California to a 64-57 victory over 10th-seeded Oregon State in the first round of the Pac-12 women’s tournament. Mollee Schwegler scored 12 points on four 3-pointers.

SEATTLE (AP) – Lia Galdeira scored 17 points, Dawnyelle Awa added 10 and Washington State beat Arizona State 48-41 last night in the opening round of the Pac-12 Conference tournament. Galdeira was 7 of 15 from the floor for the eighth-seeded Cougars, who moved on to face No. 1 seed and fourth-ranked Stanford today. Janae Fulcher led the No. 9 seed Sun Devils with 20 points. Promise Amukamara grabbed 14 rebounds but was just 1 of 12 shooting, part of a 29 percent team effort for ASU.

SEATTLE (AP) – Michelle Plouffe had 24 points and nine rebounds to help Utah beat Arizona 66-48 in the first round of the Pac-12 women’s tournament yesterday. Plouffe had five 3-pointers for the sixth-seeded Utes, who will meet No. 14 UCLA, the third seed, in the tournament quarterfinals today. Meantime, in the other split-squad game, Chris Young made his debut in left field, Jed Lowrie hit a two-run homer, and the Oakland Athletics beat the Mariners 7-3.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) – Four-time champion Martin Buser is leading the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race after being the first musher to leave the checkpoint in the ghost town of Iditarod yesterday. Nearly a dozen mushers had followed him out of Iditarod by last night. All have completed their mandatory 24-hour layover. Running second was last year’s runner-up Aliy Zirkle, while 2004 winner Mitch Seavey was fourth. The winner of the 1,000-mile race is expected to arrive in Nome early next week.
