PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland acquired reserve point guard Eric Maynor from the Oklahoma City Thunder at the NBA trade deadline yesterday. Maynor is making $2.3 million this season and becomes a restricted free agent this summer. The Blazers acquired him in exchange for the draft rights to Georgios Printezis. Maynor, in his fourth NBA season, is averaging 2.8 points, two rebounds and 10.6 minutes in 37 games with the Thunder. The 25-year-old Maynor missed most of last season with a knee injury.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Justin Cobbs’ jumper with 0.7 seconds to play gave California a 48-46 victory over No. 23 Oregon last night. Cobbs’ shot, which came after the Golden Bears ran nearly all of the final 26 seconds off the clock, hit nothing but net. Cobbs finished with 14 points and Allen Crabbe had 12 for Cal, which has won four straight. Arsalan Kazemi had 11 points and a season-high 18 rebounds for the Ducks, who fell to 21-6 and lost their 11th game in a row to Cal. Carlos Emory had 13 points.

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – Josh Huestis had 20 points and 11 rebounds and Stanford pulled away down the stretch to beat Oregon State 82-72 last night. Dwight Powell had 14 points and 11 boards. Chasson Randle scored 12 of his 13 points in the first half to keep Stanford in it. Roberto Nelson had 28 points to lead the Beavers, who are now 13-14.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Kevin Bailey scored 18 points, including a key basket down the stretch, and Portland defeated San Diego 70-68 last night. Bailey scored with 13 seconds left to give the Pilots a 66-62 lead. Bryce Pressley and Ryan Nicholas each made two free throws in the final seconds for Portland. Ryan Nicholas and Derrick Rodgers scored 15 points apiece and Thomas van der Mars had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Pilots. Johnny Dee led the Toreros with 13 points, 11 in the second half.

DALLAS (AP) – Jason Garrison and Henrik Sedin (seh-DEEN’) scored third-period goals to help lead the Vancouver Canucks to a 4-3 victory over the Dallas Stars yesterday. Alex Burrows and Kevin Bieksa also scored for the Canucks, who ended a three-game winless streak, including a 4-3 decision to the Stars in Vancouver on Feb. 15. Cory Schneider made 22 saves for the win.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Portland Timbers have signed midfielder Michael Nanchoff, adding another player who played for new coach Caleb Porter at the University of Akron. The Timbers last week acquired former Akron midfielder Ben Zemanski from Chivas USA. Timbers midfielder Darlington Nagbe also played for the Zips. Nanchoff has played two seasons in Vancouver.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Nike has suspended the contract of Oscar Pistorius. The first double-amputee runner to compete on the track at the Olympics is facing a charge of premeditated murder in South Africa in the Valentine’s Day killing of his girlfriend. Nike says “we believe Oscar Pistorius should be afforded due process and we will continue to monitor the situation closely.”

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) – The field for the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race continues to shrink. Big Lake musher Rohn Buser withdrew from the race on Wednesday. He’s the 23-year-old son of four-time champion Martin Buser, who tells the Anchorage Daily News his son decided it best to let his dad have one super team of dogs rather than try to run two so-so teams.
