PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon labor commissioner has filed discrimination charges against a Portland bar accused of telling transgender patrons to stay away. KATU reports Commissioner Brad Avakian filed the charge yesterday against the Twilight Room Annex, formerly known as the P Club. At the time he was accused last August, bar owner Chris Penner said he was shocked and baffled by the discrimination allegation. He said he has gay and lesbian staff, and the bar has hosted same-sex wedding receptions and gay pride events.

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – Police believe they have caught the men responsible for more than 80 thefts of mail in the past month from Medford mailboxes. Police say the men looked for checks, debit or credit cards and gift cards. The Mail Tribune reports a break in the case came Friday when a man was arrested trying to cash a stolen check. A total of four men have been charged with identity theft or methamphetamine possession.

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – Eight men caught at an Eagle Point cockfight in June are being sentenced to probation under a plea agreement. Seven of them have pleaded guilty and the eighth is to plead guilty next month in Jackson County Circuit Court. Prosecutors say the agreed to the deal because the men remained at the scene instead of running with about 30 others when police arrived.

BEND, Ore. (AP) – A Bend police officer was injured early this morning in a collision on Highway 97 in the city. KTVZ reports the officer radioed for help at 12:20 a.m. saying he had been rear-ended at a high rate of speed. Oregon State Police are investigating.
