Local Sports… Ducks upset number 4 AZ; prep schedules

Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports…

The Oregon men overcame a slow start to ultimately upset number four Arizona 70-66 last night at Matthew Knight Arena… handing the Wildcats their first loss of the season.  E.J. Singler led the ducks with 14 points; Dominic Artis, Carlos Emory and Tony Woods each had ten as Oregon improves to 13-and-2 overall… two-and-oh in the Pac 12.  Oregon will host Arizona State Sunday at six… airtime on Coast Radio Sports is at 5:30.

A short handed Oregon State gave up a big run early in the second half and Arizona State held on for a 72-62 Pac-12 win in Corvallis last night.  The Beavers were playing without two regulars… starter Eric Moreland and reserve Victor Robbins were both suspended just before the game because of a violation of team rules.    Oregon State will host Arizona tomorrow at five… the pregame show on KCFM at 4:30.

Also on the schedule… tonight, Far West League basketball:  The Siuslaw Vikings will be in Winston to face the Douglas Trojans.  The girls tip off at six, the boys immediately following.  The pregame show on 106.9 FM is at 5:45.

The Reedsport Braves are back on the court this evening in Myrtle Point against the Bobcats… the girls tip off at six, the boys right after.

Mapleton Sailor basketball is on the road tonight too… they’ll be in Siletz for a boys and girls double bill.

On the mats tonight… the Siuslaw Vikings will host a three-way dual meet beginning at six.  First up will be Newport and Coquille; then the Vikings will take on the Cubs and the Red Devils separately immediately following.  Siuslaw wrestlers will be back in action tomorrow again in Waldport for the Irish Invitational.
