PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A judge has granted a delay in the civil lawsuit filed by the mother of Kyron Horman against the woman she holds responsible for his disappearance. Desiree Young sued Kyron’s stepmother, Terri Horman, on June 1, alleging Terri Horman kidnapped Kyron.

ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) – The Coast Guard says one of its boats managed to take a disabled 15-foot skiff in tow and keep it from smashing against the rocks of a jetty on the north Oregon coast. The skiff’s two crew members were able to navigate the breakwater on foot and make it safely to shore on yesterday.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Residents are petitioning for water and soil testing in West Salem, where a number of young people have been diagnosed with a rare bone cancer in recent years. Among the victims was Lisa Harder, a senior and homecoming queen at West Salem High School who died earlier this month.

CHILDRESS, Texas (AP) – The West Texas crash of a helicopter registered in Oregon killed a lineman working on power lines and injured the pilot. Records show the helicopter was registered to Brim Equipment Leasing Inc. of Ashland, Ore. A message left today with Brim wasn’t immediately returned.
