SWEET HOME, Ore. (AP) – The Linn County, Ore., sheriff’s office says a transient accused of threatening another man who warned him not to poach deer later rammed his pickup truck into multiple patrol cars when officers showed up. Undersheriff Bruce Riley tallied the Wednesday night destruction at three patrol cars and one civilian car destroyed, a fourth patrol car damaged and minor injuries to several officers. Sheriff’s deputies and Sweet Home police eventually arrested 34-year-old Joseph Arthur Williams.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – A sheriff’s officer says a Eugene teen accused of striking a man with his sport utility vehicle after the man failed to produce a cigarette for an SUV passenger has been arraigned on charges that include hit-and-run driving. Lane County sheriff’s Sgt. Carrie Carver says investigators believe that 19-year-old Jason Michael Jaime was driving the SUV.

HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) – Police in the Portland suburb of Hillsboro say a contractor in his 50s has died after falling more than 20 feet from a ladder. Hillsboro police Lt. Mike Rouches says the man was working yesterday on siding a vacant home to prepare it for sale. He died at the scene. Police did not immediately identify him pending notification of relatives.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – About 100 activists have gathered in northeast Portland to prevent the city from removing a woman from the foreclosed home she’s been occupying for six months. Alicia Jackson lost the house to foreclosure last year after she stopped making payments. With help from Occupy Portland members, she returned during a May Day protest and has remained.
