Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. (AP) – Nick McCrory and David Boudia cruised to the 10-meter platform synchro title and spots on the Olympic team at the U.S. trials. The duo totaled 1,387.66 points in the final, completing a wire-to-wire victory after having led the semifinal and preliminary rounds. McCrory, a Duke student, and Boudia, who attends Purdue, did the two toughest dives of the final, with none of the other seven teams attempting anything close to their degree of difficulty.

BEAVERTON, Ore. (AP) – Kibwe Johnson won the hammer at the Olympic trials with a throw of 245 feet, 11 inches to earn a trip to the London Games. A.G. Kruger, who finished third with a throw of 242-6 in the event yesterday, also will represent the U.S. Second-place Chris Cralle, who threw 243-11, doesn’t have the Olympic “A” standard of 255-11 needed to qualify. The event was held at Nike’s headquarters, about 110 miles north of where the other Olympic trials will start today in Eugene, Ore.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Now that everyone knows which two races Allyson Felix will run, it’s time to find out if Tyson Gay is fit enough to win even one. Both of America’s best-known sprinters will try to qualify for a trip to the London Games, but while Felix heads into Olympic trials at the top of her game, Gay remains a question mark after months of struggling with injuries. Felix finally ended the drama and said she’ll try for the 100-200 double, instead of the 200-400 she’d been training for over much of the last year. She takes to the track Friday, while Gay’s first heat in the 100 will come Saturday.
