SALEM, Ore. (AP) – A Salem woman has been sentenced to three years in prison for allowing her 17-year-old daughter to work as a nude stripper. Christina Lopez pleaded guilty yesterday to attempted use of a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct. In December Lopez complained to police and media that a strip club had hired her underage daughter. The Statesman Journal reports investigators found video that showed the mother watching her daughter dance and giving her money.

KELSO, Wash. (AP) – A man facing sex abuse charges in Clatsop County was arrested after a police chase and crash in Kelso, Wash. KLOG reports Silas Eastman crashed the car, tried to force his way into a home and resisted officers who used a Taser to subdue him. He jailed under the name of a Kelso man, but police determined it was Eastman who had been wanted since November on a fugitive warrant.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Portland City Council has approved a $250,000 settlement with a man who was mistakenly arrested by police who suspected he was a graffiti tagger. Dan Halsted was jolted five times with a Taser as he was walking home four years ago from a restaurant. He was never charged with a crime. KATU reports police recently completed refresher training on the use of Tasers.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Boring, Oregon, has met its match in Dull, Scotland. The two have agreed to be sister communities – mostly for fun and publicity. The Oregonian reports the twinning was the idea of a tourist from Scotland, Elizabeth Leighton, who traveled earlier this year through the Clackamas County town named after homesteader William Boring.
