PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Drew Gooden scored 19 points and the
Milwaukee Bucks beat Portland 116-87 last night in the Trail
Blazers’ first home game since coach Nate McMillan was fired last
week. LaMarcus Aldridge had 21 points and 12 rebounds for the
Blazers.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Brandon Roy unexpectedly appeared at the
Trail Blazers’ game against the Milwaukee Bucks last night, his
first visit to the Rose Garden since his abrupt retirement at the
opening of training camp. Roy sat courtside with wife Tiana and was
given a standing ovation when he was shown on the video scoreboard.
Team owner Paul Allen was among those standing.

SEATTLE (AP) – Terrence Ross scored 24 points, Tony Wroten added
22 points and Washington advanced to the semifinals of the NIT,
holding off a late rally from Pac-12 rival Oregon for a 90-86 win
last night. The Huskies will face the winner of today’s
quarterfinal between Minnesota and Middle Tennessee State on March
27. Olu Ashaolu led Oregon (24-10) with 20 points and E.J. Singler
added 19.

GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) – Kevin Millwood pitched five strong
innings yesterday, leading the Seattle Mariners to an 8-1 win over
the Cincinnati Reds. Carlos Peguero homered and singled, driving in
four runs. Luis Rodrigues had two singles and a sacrifice fly for
Seattle.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Oregon and Michigan State have agreed to a
home-and-home series that will open in Eugene in 2014 and go to
East Lansing in 2015. The Ducks say the dates of the games have not
been finalized. In a previous series between the two schools, the
Ducks defeated the Spartans 48-14 at Autzen Stadium in 1998, while
the Spartans won their home game 27-20 in 1999.
