PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Jamal Crawford scored a season-high 26
points and the Portland Trail Blazers returned home from a six-game
road trip with a 101-89 win over the Sacramento Kings last night.
Gerald Wallace had 20 points and eight rebounds and LaMarcus
Aldridge added 13 points and 16 rebounds for the Blazers, who were
coming off a 2-4 trip. Portland improved to 7-1 at the Rose Garden,
playing there for the first time since Jan. 11. Sacramento dropped
to 2-9 on the road.

SEATTLE (AP) – Kevin Millwood and the Seattle Mariners have
agreed to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring
training. Mariners general manager Jack Zduriencik (zur-EHN’-sihk)
said during a conference call yesterday that Millwood will have a
chance to compete for a spot in the rotation. The 37-year-old
Millwood gets a $1 million salary if he makes Seattle’s 40-man
roster and he can earn an additional $750,000 in performance
bonuses.

SEATTLE (AP) – The Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees have
finalized their four-player trade sending All-Star pitcher Michael
Pineda to the Yankees in exchange for young slugging prospect Jesus
Montero. The Mariners and Yankees completed the deal yesterday
after all players completed physicals with their new teams. Seattle
also sent 19-year-old pitching prospect Jose Campos to New York
with 24-year-old pitcher Hector Noesi coming back to Seattle.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Oregon head coach Chip Kelly announced
Monday that he’ll remain with the Ducks though he says he was
flattered by the interest shown in him by the NFL’s Tampa Bay
Buccaneers. Kelly says he enjoyed meeting with the organization,
including general manager Mark Dominik, but says that after
numerous discussions he decided he had “unfinished business” at
Oregon. Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens says Oregon granted
Tampa Bay permission to talk to Kelly.
