SALEM, Ore. (AP) – State lawmakers will get a fresh picture of

Oregon’s tax collections and economic outlook in just a little while.

Legislative committees are scheduled this morning to hear the latest quarterly revenue forecast following a period of relatively flat

job growth.

It will be the first forecast of the two-year budget cycle that

began last month. It will also be the first since State Economist

Tom Potiowsky (puh-TOW’-skee) stepped down to return to Portland

State University, where he’ll serve as chair of the economics

department and director of a new applied economic research center.

Interim State Economist Mark McMullen will give the forecast in

Potiowski’s place.
